BIO
Brian Wiggins (USA, 1965) lives and works in Eastern Pennsylvania. He attended Westark Community College (University of Arkansas, Fort Smith) before transferring to Memphis College of Art, graduating in 1989. In the mid 90s Brian was diagnosed with Pigmentary Dispersion Syndrome. This rare genetic disorder became fuel to approach abstraction from a different angle where he could approach the experience of color and form as something without any foundation or, as a static experience, but as one that is continually in flux. Group shows include I’m So Glad I’m Just Like You!, group show curated by Elizabeth Johnson, in 2021; Plain and Fancy, at the Painting Center, in NYC, 2020; Great Expectations, at Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation, PA; Special FX, at Susquehanna Art Museum, PA; How to Forget What You’ve Seen, at Lockhart Gallery, SUNY Geneseo, NYC and Refugee Reading Room, curated by Amze Emmons, Space 1026, PA, in 2011.
