ANA BIAL

BIO

Ana Bial (Brasil, 1987) was born on a Saturday, in the middle of Carnival. She lives and works in New York City. Important shows include, Acelera mas Não Corre, a special project for Feira Artigo curated by Alexandre Murucci in 2013, Banquete 60, curated by Marcia Xavier, in 2016, The head is Round, curated by Gisela Gueiros, in 2018, and Psycho curated by Abby Lloyd and Hadley Vogel, in 2020. In 2017, Bial organized Not Right, an art benefit to raise funds and awareness to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Three years later, she participated in Despina Residency, in Rio de Janeiro, which culminated in vitrinevitrine.com, an online exhibition with curator Victor Gorgulho. Also in 2020, Ana and Marcy Cruthirds curated the garden show, A Musician’s Day. Recent exhibitions include: Possible Disasters, Residency Unlimited, curated by Gisela Gueiros, New York ArtRio (2021) and Oma, Dumbo Archway, Brooklyn, New York (2022).
